The Time Machine

The Time Machine

1985 was one hell of a time,
Millions were struggling to earn a dime,
The markets exploded, releasing an era to define.

Years rolled by separated by the sky,
Bombs blew, bullets flew,
The lady in blue missed a few.

Two worlds clashed from east to west,
Only a few could get a bloody rest,
Freedom spread, from the powerful nest.

The village sat next to the bear,
No one fought, but one might dare,
Firing up a great big flare.

A city divided by two competing wrongs,
The wall in the middle wasn't half long,
Can human beings ever get along?

The city's open and blue,
A few poets followed by an artist too.
Thankfully, the dark days have long since gone.
