What day was it, no one knew,
Only the happy few.
A few too many, the locals detest,
Away from home, the young test the rules.
Young Rembrandt arrived in town,
Many colours for the master to paste.
A young writer came from abroad,
Alien forces took her to darker crowds.
After death, new people arrived,
The city needed to be on time.
Weed came and stayed a while,
The Coffeeshops lined the ancient streets.
Hippies flocked, artists stayed on,
The canals hosted the bohemian few.
An old city has seen many a change,
Few remain from those olden days.
